no snooplog.txt / Enable logging

Jan 31, 2013 at 1:13 PM
I am trying to snoop a VS2012 window. Have followed the steps described for Enabling CommandRunTime exceptions and disabling "just my code" and I am still not able to snoop.

I can't find the snooplog.txt file. Is there something that I need to do to enable logging.

Hi Mark,

First off, which directory are you looking in for the log file? It should be in a temp directory such as this: C:\Users[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Snoop. The option you're supposed to have checked from the debug menu is "Common Language Runtime Exceptions". Make sure that the Thrown column is checked.

Also, have you checked that Snoop is running as administrator (or a level at least as high as the application being snooped). When you drag the Snoop button over the application being snooped, the snoop icon should appear (the binoculars are supposed to be replaced with the button you drag over the app).

Are you able to snoop any app, or is it that you just can't snoop a certain app in particular?
